Should the U.S. continue to focus plans for Permanent Nuclear Waste Disposal Exclusively at Yucca Mountain?

Your opinion may not sit squarely on one side, and thats okay. What is your own view point on the issue?

Should the U.S. continue to focus plans for Permanent Nuclear Waste Disposal Exclusively at Yucca Mountain?
Having lived in Vegas for seven years and having one close friend as well as a few other friends that worked on what is affectionately known among those who work there as "THE project", I have to say that this project is in serious trouble. I do not believe that this project is ever going to be able to function correctly. IF they ever do begin shipping nuclear waste there, I would be greatly concerned. On the other hand, I do believe that we need to do something with the tremendous amounts of nuclear waste that have been and are being created. A suitable answer needs to be devised, but I don't think that Yucca Mountain is that answer.
Reply:I believe so it's fail proof or at least as fail proof as we can get and by the time it contaminates the soil if it ever does we'll have more important stuff to worry about.
Reply:no! they should do what their mother told them to do! which is to put it back where they got it from so where ever they got that toxic waste they should put it there, meaning if a state or country got rich off making that waste then they should deal with it!
Reply:I don't know. But what I do know is that currently storing nuclear waste at the power plants where they are placed next to our water supply is the worst solution possible.
