My yucca tree seems to have graying spots on the leaves. I forgot to water it and it was dieing. Whats wrong?

I forgot to water it. For like about 1 week. I started watering it again and its leaves started to brown and yellow. I trimmed those ones off and even cut the whole head off. I then noticed that some of the leaves had like dust on them. But it was not dust. It was grayish spots on the leaves on some of them but not all. I was wondering if it was a fungus. So I ended up just cutting all the heads off of it because a friend told me that that sometimes could help. I am hoping that it does not have a fungus. Ive had it for about a year now. Whats wrong with my poor plant?

just that , you said it it was dieing because you forgot to water it and it had to much shade maybe
Reply:yucca can tolerate being without water for a week, especially if it is in a big pot. what it can't tolerate - standing in a shadowy place and being overwatered. your gray dusty spots are mold, it is fungus, and it is cos your plant is standing in a shadowy place and u overwater it. soil should dry 2 cm deep between watering. u try it with finger before watering. i don't know whether it would survive, if it is not a big tree u should repot it into new soil and new pot. when u remove it from pot inspect roots. if they re all brown and soft throw it away - it is ill from up and down. next time be more accurate with watering plants
Reply:Are you sure it's a yucca? Is it inside or out? Is it in a pot or in the ground? Not really enough info, but unless a yucca is in the smallest pot imaginable and in desert type heat, it shouldn't require water more than every two or three weeks. they are extremely drought tolerant. Take a sample into your local nursery, in a plastic bag in case it's diseased, they should be able to answer your question more effectively
