Do you have any idea Las Vegas ,a popular city in Nevada, has a lot of people and tourists that come to Las Vegas mostly of special events or for the casino. People don't want a toxic mountain that it can populate the air and flow to the city so people and breath air that may harm them. Also if you learn a little more about Earth Science you will understand the thing about populate air.

Why is yucca mountain bad ? why dont people want it in nevada?
First off,Yucca Mountain isn't in LV. It's around 90mi away. I live in Vegas. Yucca Mountain is located above an aquifer that is the only source of water in the area.The repository is planned to be placed 1000ft above that aquifer but theres still a possibility that something will go wrong. Reply:There is some fear that the safegaurds used to keep the radioactive materials from leaking into the water tables will not stand the test of time.
