Reply:Ambiguous. There is no such thing as a safe place to store radioactive waste. Yucca Mountain may be the least hazardous, maybe, but there is also no safe way to transport the wastes there. Currently it is stored on site at govt %26amp; power plant sites, where leaks %26amp; accidents happen on a semi-regular basis.
This is the problem in a nutshell. Those who claim nuclear power is the cleanest %26amp; cheapest are telling outright lies. The leftover by-products are the most toxic materials on Earth. And the costs of the plants themselves %26amp; security for them are heavily subsidized by our tax dollars. The hidden cost no one talks about.
