I have a yucca palm plant (tree) six feet high that has two base stems threeinches thick. It is too tall.r?

Can I cut the entire tree off to about six inches from the earth?

You can cut it to any length or height. It should put out a new head of foliage near where you cut it off. The top peice can be rooted in sand also.
