Does anyone know any interesting facts about Yucca?

Historical or not. Something that makes this flower special?

Does anyone know any interesting facts about Yucca?
It is the New Mexico state flower.
Reply:With certain species, the root can be ground up, the moisture squeezed out, and used for shampoo! The American Indians have been using it for years.
Reply:There are two different kinds of Yucca Plants, indoor and outdoor. The indoor ones basically are just regular plants and do not have any flowers, just very large skinny leaves. There are multiple types of outdoor Yucca Plants and they can have all different kinds of very large beautiful pink and white flowers. Many people have trouble with them and a lot of them end up dying, or that is at least what I've been told by our customers and have seen myself.
Reply:Do not eat to much. Might be poison to others. The plant might cause skin problem, also not to be eaten.

Jungle food.

Please use gloves. Know what you are doing !
Reply:Yucca? There are two kinds of yuccas. The spineless yucca that is a nice house plant (its leaves are soft and won't hurt you), and the "wild yucca" which grows in the desert. Its also called Spanish Dagger for a good reason.

Something that makes this plant special? Yes, every single leaf is like a sword. So, it's not a good idea to skydive in the desert. You might land on top of a yucca if you are unlucky. ;-)
