Does anyone know how to kill yucca plants???

The plants were here when I bought the house, 6 of them! I've tried amonia directly in the stalk during the growing period as suggested by a professional but they still live and get bigger every year. They are choking out a lot of other plants that I would rather have.

Does anyone know how to kill yucca plants???
Rock Salt. pour it around the roots, and water it. The salt will kill the plant in no time flat! (I use it to kill trees and other plants when I want to get rid of something quick).

Look under "shrubs". You may want to reconsider before your ruin your flower bed. Report It

Reply:I had a yucca removed but it continued to sprout since the roots were chopped up %26amp; scattered. I used a small brush to apply Ortho Brush-B-Gon, Poison Ivy Killer, full-strength, as they sprouted. It took several applications to kill each one. I have eradicated them using perseverance and poison. Report It

Reply:I don't know where you heard to use ammonia, everything I've heard about ammonia is that it's a fertilizer!

Supposedly, you can make soap out of the stuff.

I've heard on several other forums to use round up and/or, a black canvas with mulch.
Reply:They get to be monsters. I had the same here, and dug them out. Kill the root system will help, cutting will not be very effective as they choose to sprout out elsewhere on the trunk. Mine were higher than my house when I bought it.

Don't add any more chemicals or toxicity to the ground
Reply:try to keep it in sunlight all the time
Reply:keep it under the sun
Reply:chain saw can kill any plant that is becoming big
Reply:Give them to me I manage to kill all my plants!!!!!!!!!
Reply:the easiest and cheapest way is to just dig them up... after all your probably going to have to do it eventually after its dead... most people ask how to keep their plants alive... irony..
Reply:Just don't destroy them if you're in New Mexico. You will be in violation of the law. If you're in NM, have a professional remove them. If your not in NM, dig them up.
Reply:did you try biting it
