Can i take a cutting off my yucca plant ?

if we are talking outside yucca, absolutely .. take a shovel and dig around the plant where you see babies that has it's own roots.. pull babies off with hand.. or dig up whole plant and divide with shovel or knife .. so easy, like taking candy from a baby : )

Can i take a cutting off my yucca plant ?
I there is one growing from the side then yes, take it off with root and plant in pot, keep out of direct sun for a while though.

If you don't have a shoot on the side but still want more plants you can dig around the roots and cut a bit of root off - say 2 inches long. Plant up, water regularly, label and leave for about a year. It will grow too.
Reply:You certainly can. I assume you have a little one growing off the main stem. Pull it of, tidy the ragged end with a sharp knife, pull off any dead leaves and plant firmly in a pot of gritty compost. The pot should be as wide as half the height of the plant. Put in a light but not sunny place and stand back. Probably take a year to root properly.
Reply:Yes
Reply:Yes, it is the easiest plant to proprogate. Simply take off a shoot, and put it in a pot, or in the ground. You soon will have a new plant. It is best to trim them regularly, anyway, and so you can plant the trimmings to have babies to share with others.
